  • Facilitate church to church partnerships
  • Promote leadership training for Addis Kidan Churches
  • Promote community health evangelism
  • Promote and support new ministries as needs and resources arise.

History

The beginnings of Bridge 2 Ethiopia (b2e) began in 1967 when missionaries, John & Marie Cheyne along with Bill & Nina Lewis, came to Ethiopia to start a new work.  Many others followed and soon a new holistic approach began as the ministry in Menz started with clinics, trade school, veterinary and agricultural work. In time people began to know about the love of Christ through the witness of many missionaries and Ethiopian believers.

In reality, b2e began in May 2008 when God placed a burden on the hearts of Gary and Becky Threatt to walk along beside the Addis Kidan Baptist Convention to assist them in bridging people from around the world to people in Ethiopia.  Addis Kidan got its start through the IMB and then formed their own convention in 2000. Addis Kidan has grown to over 200 churches.  Many ministries have begun through these churches to those in need with AIDS, poverty and famine, trade skill training, eye glasses, leadership training, trauma healing, evangelism and many others.

Bridging the span between those of us who have so much and those to who are in need became the clear path to help bridge the gap between us. Several churches have already signed up for church2church, which will link them with specific churches in Ethiopia to help train leadership,  trauma healing training, assist in community health, and reach those in need in the surrounding areas.

b2e is a volunteer team approach which allows churches or groups of people to specifically aid with issues which they feel  passionate about. Becoming a part of b2e allows you to make a difference in many people’s lives as you share just a little of what you have been blessed with.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  Acts 1:8
